CEO's message

Welcome to our Website!

larry_schrageWe are confident you will find this website meets your expectations and that it is easy to navigate, informative, functional, professional, and serves your needs. At Valley County Health System, our goal is that every patient, family member and community member has a positive experience in our facility and this goal includes visitors to our website.

Valley County Health System offers comprehensive rural health care services including our soon to be completed new hospital. We employ our physicians and mid-levels with dedicated clinic services. We offer fourteen specialty services to meet your further diagnostic needs. Our healthcare delivery system also includes Intermediate Long Term Care at our Valley View Living Center in addition to Home Health and Hospice services covering a ten county region. We are certified as a Trauma Center to meet emergency needs and are further affiliated with our tertiary care partner, Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

We always focus toward creating a culture of service excellence at our facilities. From my perspective, culture is the atmosphere we create every day, the behaviors that define whom we are as people and further as an organization. Culture also encompasses our individual values, what we believe in, how we act in good times and through adversity. Collectively, we must stand together as a group and tell our story. Critical to our story is why we exist, what we believe in, and where we are going as a leader in this community of healthcare.

It is a privilege to be a part of this organization, a source of great pride in the Ord, Valley County and surrounding communities. We are an organization that affects the lives of hundreds of people every day and we hope to exceed all of your expectations.

As you explore our website, please feel free to contact me or any of our staff with questions, comments or suggestions.

New Facility Update: Week of February 22

During the weeks of February 15 and 22, continued progress was made on the interior of the new hospital.  Dry wall installation and taping continued in the rehabilitation and administrative areas.  Electrical and plumbing rough-in work continued in the rehabilitation and dietary departments.  Glass was installed in the chapel and in the nearby hallway.  Installation of window frames in the front lobby continued.
