Kara Fischer: 2008 NHA Trustee of the Year
Kara Fischer, Chair of the Valley County Health System Board of Trustees, has been chosen as the recipient of the prestigious Nebraska Hospital Association’s 2008 Trustee of the Year. Kara has served on the VCHS Board for seven years and has been board chair since 2003.
Nominations were judged on the following criteria, based on a 100-point system: Organizational Contributions, Community Contributions and General Governance Contributions. Kara was selected for this award by the NHA from among several nominees. There are 85 member hospitals in the Nebraska Hospital Association.
Laura J. Redoutey, President of NHA delivered comments and presented a plaque to Kara at the October 31st Caring Kind Luncheon held during the NHA Annual Convention in Lincoln. There were more than 500 people in attendance.
