Satellite Flu Shot Clinics Postponed
Ord - Valley County Health System announces that flu shot clinics in satellite communities have been suspended. In a letter received from the supplier of the influenza vaccine, VCHS was notified that due to the challenge of producing both the seasonal influenza and H1N1 vaccines, the distribution of the seasonal influenza vaccine is being delayed while the H1N1 vaccine distribution takes priority.
Valley County Health System has only received 900 doses of the seasonal influenza vaccine and is expecting 600 more. At this time, a vast majority of the 900 doses have been administered.
Flu shots will still be available at any of the five Valley County Health System medical clinics in Ord, Burwell, North Loup, Ericson and Loup City, while supplies last. No appointment is necessary.
The cost for the flu shot is $30. For Medicare Part B patients, Medicare will be billed and must present their Medicare Part B card.
