Flu Shot Clinics Schedule
Ord - Valley County Health System will once again be offering flu shot clinics in thirteen area communities. This year the CDC is recommending that the seasonal flu vaccine be given early. Therefore, the clinics begin September 16 and continue through November 13 and are available to everyone.
The communities in which the flu shot clinics will be held are Ansley, Arcadia, Ashton, Burwell, Comstock, Dannebrog, Litchfield, Loup City, North Loup, Ord, Sargent, Scotia and St. Paul. Flu shots are also available at Valley County Health System's medical clinics in Ord, Burwell, Ericson, Loup City and North Loup. No appointment is necessary.
The cost for the flu shot is $30. For Medicare Part B patients, Medicare will be billed and must present their Medicare Part B card. For those covered by Medicare Advantage, Railroad Medicare and private insurance, their insurance company will be billed only if they receive the vaccination at one Valley County Health System's five medical clinic locations. Medicaid patients and children ages 19 and under must receive flu shot at any of the five VCHS medical clinic locations.
The seasonal flu shot will not protect you against the H1N1 strain of influenza. The CDC is currently working on a vaccine for H1N1.
