Foundation Donates $157,900 for New Surgery Equipment
At their September 15, 2010 board meeting the Valley County Health System Foundation Board approved donations in the amount of $151,809 for the purchase of equipment the for total knee replacements and shoulder surgeries that will be performed in the new hospital. The board also approved releasing the funds donated by the Erma Klanecky Estate and donated the additional amount needed to purchase a heart monitor system for the operating room in the new hospital.
In addition, the Foundation approved the donation of $565 for balancing pads and hand weights for Rehabilitation Services. The total amount of funds approved by the board at their September meeting was $177,374.45. At their meeting the Foundation Board also set a goal of reaching a $1 million endowment within the next three years.
Joyce Seward, Interim CEO, stated, "Valley County Health System is extremely grateful for these generous contributions made by the Foundation. The new surgery equipment will allow us to provide total knee replacements and shoulder surgeries. We thank the Foundation for these donations and look forward to enhancing our services in the new facility as a result."
The Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization. The Foundation's mission is to seek, receive and administer donations and gifts for the sole benefit of Valley County Health System. The Foundation's number one priority is enhancing and sustaining high-quality healthcare in Central Nebraska.
