New Facility Update #21

During the weeks of March 1 and 8, continued progress was made on the interior of the new hospital.  The general contractor began the blocking and backing in the kitchen.  The trim carpenters began installing the vanity tops in the patient bathrooms.  Casework is also being installed in the acute care patient rooms.  The framing for the windows at the front entrance continued.  Dry wall installation and taping continued in the rehabilitation and administrative areas.  Installation of glass in the chapel was finished.

Installation of case work for the acute care department continued in the patient rooms.    Ceiling grid installation continued in the emergency and surgery departments.  Contractors are on site installing cable tray and cables for the computers and nurse call system.  Ceiling installation began in the surgery and maintenance departments. 

Next week the walk-in cooler, freezer and exhaust hood will be installed in the kitchen. 

The opening date for the new hospital will be Monday, October 4, 2010.  A public open house will be held prior to this date.  For more information contact the Public Relations office at 728-4347.
