Sandoz Passes Trauma Nurse Core Course
Jennifer Sandoz, Acute Care RN, at Valley County Health System has completed Trauma Nurse Core Course, TNCC, through the Emergency Nurses Association. The TNCC is a two day course that presents core-level knowledge, refine skills, and build a firm foundation in trauma nurses. ENA developed and implemented the TNCC for national and international dissemination as a means of identifying a standardized body of trauma nursing knowledge. The certification consists of a written exam and skill stations. The exam covered all types of ER care from initial assessment to brain and cranial trauma to psychosocial aspects of trauma care. The skill stations covered trauma nursing process, airway and ventilation interventions, spinal protection, helmet removal, splinting, and a physical assessment station.
