Seventeen Complete Hospice Volunteer Training
ORD - Valley County Health System's Home Health and Hospice Department wishes to recognize 17 people from the Ord and Burwell areas who recently completed 16 hours of Volunteer training during the month of March.
Hospice care is provided by a team of doctors, nurses, social workers, counselors, home care aides, clergy members, therapists and volunteers. Together, we provide comprehensive care aimed at relieving symptoms and giving social, emotional, and spiritual support. Hospice affirms life while providing support and care for persons in the last phases of an incurable disease so they might live as fully and comfortably as possible.
In 2010, volunteers of the VCHS Hospice program volunteered 883 hours of their time providing support for hospice patients.
