Dick Watts

"When I suffered a sudden stroke on November 17, 2010 I had extremely quick response from the Burwell EMT's and appreciated being so close to Valley County Health System.  I was very pleased with the care I received at VCHS and I think we are really lucky to have this facility so close.

The new hospital is beautiful but it is the people within the hospital that made it a pleasant experience for me.  Dr. Unterseher was very thorough and the nurses were wonderful.  During my 8-day stay in acute care I experienced great food and treatment by all staff including housekeeping, nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapy.  If a hospital stay can be classified as nice, this stay was just that.

Since my discharge I chose to continue my physical and occupational therapy with the VCHS Rehabilitation Center in Burwell as these ladies worked with me while I was in the hospital and knew what progress I had already made.  It just made sense to finish my treatment with them.  I am extremely satisfied with the quality of care and compassion I received from Valley County Health System.  I had a very good experience."

Gold Star Award

Business Office & Colleagues

Special thanks to the Business Office Department for their help in the semi-annual VCHS trash pick-up. On Tuesday April 17th, 2012 seven of their employees and three other colleagues from VCHS successfully picked up the trash along Hwy 11 from the Ord Golf Course to past the airport. This is the second time an individual department has volunteered to do this and it is greatly appreciated! Thanks to all those who participated!
