Larry Konkoleski
Larry Konkoleski had nauseating pain in his back and numbness in his arm one Saturday in February. His wife Judy immediately took him to the Emergency Room at Valley County Health System. When they arrived, VCHS Physician Assistant Bob Reilly started checking vital signs and giving Larry medication. VCHS phsyician Dr. Jennifer Bengston was also at the ER shortly after their arrival. The Konkoleskis were informed that a helicopter would take Larry to Good Samaritan Hospital. Larry was flown there and went straight to the cardiac catheterization lab for a stent insertion. A physician at Good Samaritan Hospital told the Konkoleskis that Dr. Bengston saved Larry's life because she gave him medicine that broke up the clot in his artery so that by the time he got to the cath lab, his clot was in tiny pieces. He said that Larry was a very very sick man and his heart attack was massive. "If we didn't have a hospital here that day and a chopper to fly him out, he would have died."

Ceiling grid continued to be installed and electrical and plumbing contractors remained busy with lighting and hook-ups. The security contractor was on-site cabling the doors throughout the building.
