Felton Earns Certified Professional Coder Certification

ORD, Neb. – Kryssiah Felton, a coder/biller at Valley County Health System (VCHS), recently earned her Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders.

Medical coding is transforming healthcare diagnoses, procedures and services into universal medical codes for medical documentation and billing purposes. The most recognized medical coding certification in the healthcare industry, the CPC enhances Felton’s knowledge and ability to maintain compliance and profitability for VCHS through accurate coding and documentation. Felton completed coursework and a related test to earn the certification.

“I couldn’t have done this without the support of my family, VCHS and my colleagues” Felton said. “I am thankful to VCHS for giving me this career opportunity I wouldn’t have found elsewhere, and I’m excited to continue assisting our patients, providers and organization in my role.”

Felton said she also plans to earn her Certified Professional Biller certification in the future.
