Haas named VCHS Employee of the Quarter

 

ORD, Neb. – Macaela Haas, PLMHP, has been named the Valley County Health System (VCHS) Employee of the Quarter. Haas, a therapist with the VCHS Heritage Program for Seniors, was nominated by a coworker for demonstrating the VCHS values of integrity, compassion, ownership, respect and trust. VCHS CEO Nancy Glaubke presented the award to Haas during a reception with coworkers and family on Apr. 24 at VCHS.

Haas’s nomination read:

“Integrity- As a provisionally licensed mental health practitioner, Macaela follows the American Counseling Association’s code of ethics and fulfills VCHS’ core value of integrity on a daily basis. Macaela facilitates growth and development while providing a valuable service to promote the welfare of VCHS’ Heritage Program for Senior’s clients. She upholds integrity by promoting high moral standards in a professional capacity. She puts the needs of her client’s and their families first and presents as an expert within the community.

Compassion- Macaela has been able to show compassion to her clients through her daily work as well as developing and committing to the Alzheimer’s Early Stage Support Group and Grief Support group offered through VCHS. Macaela displays a true compassion with clients and their families displaying a patient-centered environment.

Ownership- Macaela takes the utmost pride in her job performance through research, excellent documentation and continued communication with the Heritage team as a promotion of her client’s strengths and abilities. She upholds strengths-based communication skills and continues to shed light on mental health as a need within our community and within VCHS. She takes part in committees such as CARES and SAC and displays teamwork with other departments in order to provide the best care for patients of VCHS.

Respect- Macaela is respectful of all people and has a positive attitude that creates a warm environment within the Heritage team. She treats every person with compassion and respect. Macaela continually displays an awareness of others and herself that places her as a role model within our program.

Trust- Macaela’s positive qualities show that she is brings trust and fairness to not only her clients but also her co-workers and other facilities that VCHS serves. She is extremely helpful and always willing to help others when needed. She is trusted by our medical director and physicians as a therapist and is a person to whom clients reach out for assistance.”

With this recognition, Haas will also be considered for the VCHS Employee of the Year award for fiscal year 2017-2018.
