Heritage Program for Seniors at VCHS to Host Open House Oct. 23

ORD, Neb. – The Heritage Program for Seniors at Valley County Health System (VCHS) will host a community open house from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Mon., Oct. 23 at the Heritage Program building, 110 S. 26th St., Ord.

The Heritage Program for Seniors is a outpatient department of VCHS that provides mental and behavioral health services to individuals 55+ in central Nebraska.

The open house is an opportunity for community members to meet Heritage Program staff, tour the facility, learn about the program, enjoy fall treats and enter to win door prizes.

Numerous changes have occurred at the Heritage Program in recent months to help advance the program’s role in providing mental health services and best serving central Nebraskans.

The Heritage Program began offering an Early Stage Alzheimer’s Support Group earlier this year. Changes also include staff advancements and hires, including Riley Smith, PLCSW, PLMHP, being named director and Cheryl Hulinsky joining as a mental health technician. Other staff include Macaela Haas, PLMHP and Amber Schulenberg, mental health technician. Psychiatrist Kavir Saxena, MD, Sriram Ramaswamy, MD and Trish Lenz, APRN-NP, lead the Heritage treatment team, providing program oversight, medication management and care coordination.

Community members are welcome to stop by the Heritage Program building any time between 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 23 for the open house. Contact 308.728.4340 with questions.
