Rev. Martha Voigt, VCHS Hospice Chaplain, Earns Statewide Recognition

ORD, Neb. – Rev. Martha Voigt of St. Paul, Neb., a volunteer chaplain for the Valley County Health System (VCHS) Hospice, was honored as an exemplary volunteer at the annual Nebraska Hospice and Palliative Care Association (NHPCA) banquet on March 14 in Lincoln, Neb. Each year, NHPCA recognizes exemplary volunteers who provided outstanding volunteer services during the previous year at a Nebraska hospice agency.

“Rev. Martha Voigt has been a volunteer with VCHS’s Hospice program for more than eight years and brings great comfort to patients and families during the patient’s final days,” VCHS Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Marilyn Winkelbauer said. “Pastor Voigt is always willing to take the time to provide much needed spiritual support, caring and compassion.”

Rev. Voigt is one of dozens of VCHS Hospice volunteers; they donated more than a combined 1,193 hours to volunteering with the program last year.
