Schneider, MD, Named VCHS Chief of Staff

ORD, Neb. – Daniel Schneider, MD, has been named the new Valley County Health System chief of staff.

In his one-year term as chief of staff, Schneider acts as the liaison and adviser between VCHS administration, hospital staff and medical staff, as well as oversees the medical staff, physician credentialing, education, quality and other medical responsibilities at VCHS. VCHS currently has an eight-person medical staff, with four MDs and four mid-level providers. Hilary Miller, MD, Greg McClanahan, MD, and Jennifer Bengston, MD, were voted vice president, secretary and past-president, respectively, of medical staff for the upcoming year. Jeff Breitkreutz, PA-C, Bob Reilly, PA-C, Kristy Dunbar, PA-C, and Johanna Spencer, APRN-NP, FNP-BC, are the four mid-level providers on the VCHS medical staff. 

Schneider joined VCHS in 2011. He provides primary care services to patients primarily at the VCHS Medical Clinic Ord and Burwell locations, as well as to hospital inpatients and emergency room patients as needed. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Doane College and his doctorate of medicine from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. Schneider completed his residency through the Lincoln Medical Education Partnership.

A native of Taylor, Neb., Schneider and his wife live in Ord with their two young daughters, with their third child to be born this fall.
