Schroeder selected for NHCA Hulda Osborn Award

ORD, Neb. – Valley County Health System (VCHS) Director of Home Health and Hospice Carol Schroeder, RN, was honored with the Hulda Osborn Award at the annual Nebraska Home Care Association (NHCA) Annual Business Meeting on January 17 in Lincoln, Neb. Each year, NHCA honors an individual who has made an outstanding contribution as a caregiver, and/or an individual that has helped advocate or support the homecare industry.

In a letter nominating Schroeder for the award, a co-worker wrote, “Carol is dedicated to enhancing the patient’s quality of life.  She focuses on providing the highest quality care to patients.  She is willing to take on very difficult and complex cases providing patients and their families the opportunity to be cared for at home.

Carol and her team continue to fulfill the mission and vision of VCHS by providing quality, patient-centered healthcare to patients and their families in 11 Nebraska counties.  They also provide monthly outreach clinics in the surrounding counties for blood pressure and foot care.”

Carol has been the Director of Home Health and Hospice at VCHS since 2002.
