Valley County Health System Board of Trustees Earn NHA Education Certification

ORD, Neb. – Members of the Valley County Health System (VCHS) Board of Trustees recently earned individual education certification through the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) Research and Education Foundation Hospital Trustee Community Accountability Education Certification Program.

All VCHS board trustees – Gary Garnick, chair; Carl Streeter, vice chair; Michelle Zangger, secretary; Roger Lansman, treasurer; Nathan Flessner; Chuck Blaha, DDS; and Morley Koll – as well as VCHS CEO Nancy Glaubke, earned the certification.

The Trustee Education Certification Program was designed to enable hospitals to utilize governance best practices, promote coordination of care and the best use of resources. Trustees must complete a set number of NHA-approved coursework hours to receive certification.  Those who complete the required education demonstrate their commitment to improving board performance and their responsibility in serving their communities.

VCHS was also recertified as an NHA Board-Certified Hospital through this program - a designation the organization has held since 2013. VCHS earned this designation through their continued community accountability and outreach and taking responsibility for quality and safety of care.
