Valley County Health System Foundation hosts “Game Changers” annual gala

ORD, Neb. – Valley County Health System (VCHS) Foundation hosted its annual gala at Trotter Event Center on January 12.  The theme was “Game Changers” and attendees filled the event center sporting their favorite team gear.  The 250+ attendees kicked off the evening with Nebraska beer, wine and coffee tastings and enjoyed games of cornhole and Jenga.

During the evening, board member Caleb Pollard, was honored with the Foundation’s Leadership Award and Steve Wolf of Wolf, Inc. with the Volunteer Award.  Community members Matt Woodward and Ryan Broker, each shared testimonials of how VCHS staff, services and the equipment the Foundation has helped raise funds for, have personally touched their lives.

“Through the years, the Foundation has seen a tremendous amount of support from the community,” said Becky Ries, Executive Director of the Foundation.  “We are pleased to share these achievements and continue our mission to bring upgrades and enhancements to VCHS to ensure high-quality healthcare to the people they serve.”

Ries noted that the annual “Make it Happen” auction was a primary focus of the evening, raising funds for a ventilator bi-pap machine.  “The generosity of our community and surrounding areas is beyond tremendous,” Ries said.  “We raised $25,000 for the ventilator bi-pap and we owe that to the kindness of our donors.”

If you were unable to attend the Gala and would like to help support the Foundation, donations can be mailed to VCHS Foundation, PO Box 321, Ord, NE 68862 or visit www.vchs-foundation.org to donate online.
