VCHS Foundation donates $86,000 for new Epiq 5G Ultrasound

ORD, Neb. – Valley County Health System (VCHS) is pleased to announce that they have received a generous donation from the VCHS Foundation in the amount of $86,000 for the purchase of a new Epiq 5G Ultrasound machine for the VCHS Imaging department.

The Foundation announced in their 2017 annual appeal (Nov 2017) that they would be focusing on raising $100,000 for a new ultrasound. At the annual gala in January 2018, $70,000 was given by generous donors.  Since January and throughout the Big Give, an additional $16,000 has been raised.  That brings the total contributions toward the ultrasound to $86,000.  “We live in a very giving community,” says Becky Ries, VCHS Foundation Director.  “This would not have been possible without the wonderful donors of Valley County and surrounding areas giving so generously.”

“This new ultrasound machine will assist multiple departments in the hospital,” says Sue Diehl, VCHS Imaging Manager. “In one day it could be used in Surgery for port placement, Specialty Clinic for an echocardiogram, in ER for an OB patient and in the medical clinic for a venous doppler.  Having this second ultrasound machine will prevent patients from waiting or having to schedule for a different day.”

The Foundation and VCHS would like to extend their gratitude to everyone that helped make this possible. “VCHS is moving forward with the new ultrasound purchase and will cover the final $14,000 needed,” says Nancy Glaubke, CEO.  “What you helped us accomplish within 4 months is outstanding and speaks volumes for the support of our community.”
