Nine Complete VCHS Hospice Volunteer Training

ORD, Neb. – Valley County Health System’s Hospice Department recognizes nine individuals who recently completed 16 hours of volunteer training in Broken Bow during February.

Hospice Care is a special concept of care designed to provide comfort, support and quality of life to patients and their families when a life-limiting illness no longer responds to cure-oriented treatment.

Volunteers are an essential part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team who allow Hospice to provide services it otherwise could not offer. Together with the other team members, volunteers provide social, emotional and spiritual support to both the patient and family.
