VCHS Physical Therapists Complete Vestibular Rehabilitation Training

ORD, Neb. –Valley County Health System Physical Therapists Heidi Peterson, DPT, and Erika White, DPT, recently attended a Vestibular Rehabilitation Certification Workshop hosted by the American Institute of Balance in Largo, Florida. White and Peterson were trained on how to evaluate, diagnose and treat vestibular disorders, which are characterized by vertigo or difficulty with balance. Both passed the certification exam and are now accepting patients with vestibular disorders.

In the state of Nebraska you will only find seven certified Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapists through the American Institute of Balance and VCHS provides two of them. Vestibular disorders can cause a significant decrease in quality of life and VCHS is happy to provide the specialized services needed to cure it, close to home.
