The work of grieving is one of the hardest tasks an individual has to do. Grief is a necessary and natural process after any significant loss.
In learning to resolve grief, we have to understand and work through difficult emotions. It often helps just to talk with someone who can listen patiently and understandingly. A grief support group is a safe place to be able to talk about your grief. It’s an opportunity to find your own answers amid the support from others that are also experiencing the loss of a loved one. It makes us feel that we are not alone – that the feelings and reactions we are experiencing are normal.
Valley County Health System Home Health/Hospice offers a monthly Grief Support Group for adults who have lost a loved one through death. The group is open to anyone who has suffered a loss and wants the support of others who have also experienced a loss.
The support group sessions are held in the Home Health/Hospice conference room the second Thursday of the month from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. These classes are free of charge. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Marilyn Winkelbauer at 308.728.4315.
