Welcome to Ord!

Valley County Health System is located in an attractive, progressive, rural community located in Central Nebraska. Ord combines the warmth of small-town charm with a large selection of local businesses and services found in larger communities.

The community of Ord continues to grow and improve because of diligent work by community and business leaders to make positive changes and expand business and community development.

Valley County Health System is proud to house medical clinics in four central Nebraska communities. In addition to a clinic in Ord, we also have clinics in Loup City, Burwell and North Loup. Each of these communities has their own annual event and small town atmosphere.

Employee Recognition

Gold Star Award

Cheryl Sinkler - Laundry/Housekeeping

Cheryl Sinkler has worked for VCHS for almost 21 years. During this time, she has been part of our laundry department, as well as helped with housekeeping at our Burwell Clinic. You know that the job will be done on time, and done right, when Cheryl is working. She takes pride in what she does and does so in a caring and professional manner. Cheryl is one of those people you meet in the hall and know she will say hello to you by name.

Cheryl exceeds expectations as she keeps laundry services going for both the hospital and Valley View Living Center, as well as ensures the Burwell Clinic is cleaned with the utmost care.

Starting her laundry shift at 5:00 a.m., Cheryl regularly returns to clean the Burwell Clinic at 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays.

We sometimes take for granted the little things, such as clean linens, towels, etc.  Hospital patients, however, appreciate clean bedding, towels, etc., and knowing Cheryl is on the job, means that this small comfort of home is always taken care of in the most professional manner.

Cheryl is well respected by her fellow employees and is a role model in her hard working and positive attitude and the way she carries out her work at all times.

DEDICATED, PROFESSIONAL, KIND, and HARD WORKING are just a few words to describe what a special lady Cheryl is and how deserving she is of being recognized as a Gold Star!

Congratulations, Cheryl! You are a Gold Star!
