In March of 2022, Valley County Health System conducted a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) for the approximately 3,928 residents in its designated service area in central Nebraska. This service area includes the nine-county (Blaine, Custer, Garfield, Greeley, Howard, Loup, Sherman, Valley, and Wheeler) area referred to as the Loup Basin. The CHNA was designed to identify and prioritize the health needs of the community. Then, an Implementation Strategy was adopted by the VCHS Board of Trustees, effective June 1st, 2022, to address each of the identified needs.
