Abby Yelken, PTA, has received the Gold Star Award for her outstanding commitment to improving the health, wellness, and quality of life of older adults in Loup City, Nebraska.
Abby has gone above and beyond her role as a Physical Therapy Assistant by recognizing an important need in her community and taking the initiative to address it. She developed and started FROG—Fitness Reaching Older Generations, a class designed to encourage older adults to stay active, improve strength and mobility, and maintain their independence.
What makes Abby’s efforts especially deserving of recognition is that FROG is about much more than exercise. She has created an opportunity for older adults to come together, stay socially connected, build confidence, and make their physical health a priority. Through her knowledge, encouragement, patience, and genuine compassion, Abby has made fitness accessible and enjoyable for members of the Loup City community.
Thank you, Abby, for your dedication to the health and well-being of others, willingness to go above and beyond, and commitment to strengthening the Loup City community.
