Hilary Miller, MD, named VCHS Chief of Staff

Hilary Miller, MD, has been named the Valley County Health System (VCHS) Chief of Staff.

In her one-year term as Chief of Staff, Miller acts as the liaison and adviser between VCHS administration and medical staff, as well as oversees physician credentialing, education and quality assurance. VCHS currently has a ten-person medical staff, with five MDs and five advanced practitioners.  Caty Ward, MD was voted Vice President, Greg McClanahan, MD was voted Secretary and Jennifer Bengston, MD Past-president of the medical staff for the upcoming year. Sarah Smyth, PA, Johanna Spencer, APRN-NP, Hallie Yantzie, APRN-NP, Jenna Hilker, APRN-NP, and Tessa Welniak, APRN-NP are the five advanced practitioners on the VCHS medical staff. Nathan Harms, MD will be joining the team of providers later this month.

Miller joined VCHS in 2015. She provides primary care services to patients primarily at the VCHS Medical Clinic Ord, as well as to hospital inpatients and emergency room patients as needed. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kearney and her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Miller completed her family practice residency through the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

A native of Spalding, Neb., Miller, her husband David Carraher, and daughter Brooke, reside in Ord.  Miller enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, fishing, cooking and traveling.
