Jane Meyer, APRN-NP, and Adelynne Sich, CNA, Receive NHAREF Scholarships

ORD, Neb. – Valley County Health System (VCHS) is proud to announce that Jane Meyer, APRN-NP, and Adelynne Sich, CNA, are the recipients of the 2020 Graduate Studies Tuition Aid Program and the Undergraduate Health Care Career Scholarship Program respectively, through the Nebraska Hospital Association Research and Educational Foundation (NHAREF).

The NHAREF is helping future industry leaders committed to pursuing a degree in health care or furthering their education in an effort to address the ongoing health care professional shortage. This is being done through two different scholarship avenues, the Graduate Studies Tuition Aid Program and the Undergraduate Health Care Career Scholarship Program. These scholarships are available to hospital employees in the state of Nebraska who are dedicated to a health care career.

Jane Meyer, APRN-NP, has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2008. She joined the team of advanced practitioners here at VCHS in 2018. Meyer was the recipient of the Graduate Studies Tuition Aid Program Scholarship. Meyer is currently studying for her post-master’s certificate in the Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program (PHNMP) at Maryville University in St. Louis Missouri. She will apply this scholarship to her current program which she will complete in December of 2020.

Adelynne Sich, CNA, has been a Unit Secretary in the VCHS Acute Care department since 2019. Sich was the recipient of the Undergraduate Health Care Career Scholarship and plans on attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney to pursue a degree in nursing.

Out of the entire state of Nebraska the NHAREF awarded 12 undergraduate scholarships and 10 graduate scholarships, VCHS employees account for two of them.

“We are so proud of Jane and Adelynne for their accomplishments,” VCHS CEO Nancy Glaubke said. “We are excited to watch them grow in their health care careers.”
