Jeffres named VCHS Employee of the Year

Brea Jeffres has been named the Valley County Health System (VCHS) Employee of the Year for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Jeffres, VCHS Acute Care & Emergency Room (ER) Nurse, received recognition for her commitment to exemplifying the VCHS values of integrity, compassion, ownership, respect, and trust, and for going above and beyond in her work.

VCHS CEO Ashley Woodward presented the award to Jeffres at a ceremony with coworkers, family, and friends in attendance. Jeffres was one of four VCHS Employee of the Quarter recipients last year. The VCHS Employee of the Year was voted on by VCHS employees, who ultimately chose Jeffres as the 2024-2025 recipient. In addition to receiving an award and certificate, Jeffres will represent VCHS as the Nebraska Hospital Association Caring Kind Awards recipient.

Brea is a remarkable team member whose integrity, compassion, and dedication shine in everything she does. She approaches each situation—whether routine or life-saving—with honesty, sound judgment, and unwavering respect for those around her. As a strong leader of the team and a positive role model, Brea inspires those around her and helps create a better, more supportive workplace for everyone.

Other VCHS Employee of the Quarter award recipients for the last year included Materials Management Manager Barb Reineke, Home Health & Hospice Social Worker Joey Cadek, and Medical Clinic Scheduler Kaitlyn Kratzer. VCHS is grateful to have such outstanding team members.
