Phillipps Completes Wound Treatment Associate Program

Jeri Phillipps, RN, a Valley County Health System (VCHS) Medical Clinic nurse, recently completed the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses (WOCN) Society’s Wound Treatment Associate (WTA) Program.

The WTA program was designed to help meet the demand for wound care services by educating and preparing nurses to care for wounds as part of a collaborative team. Candidates must possess a minimum of a nursing diploma, associate degree, or practical/vocational nurse education to participate in this course. Upon completion participants work under the direction of an advanced wound, ostomy and continence (WOC) nurse to care for and monitor wounds, ulcer/pressure injuries, skin tears and so much more. “Jeri’s dedication to continuing her education proves her commitment to providing the highest standards in wound care for our patients.” said CEO Nancy Glaubke, “We are proud to have her on our team.”
