VCHS medical clinics to offer summer sports physicals and student wellness exams

ORD, Neb. – Valley County Health System (VCHS) Medical Clinics at Burwell, Loup City and Ord will offer sports physicals and wellness exams this summer. Appointments can be made at all three of our Medical Clinic locations for both the sports physicals and exams.

VCHS Medical Clinic Ord – 308.728.4202
VCHS Medical Clinic Burwell – 308.346.5442
VCHS Medical Clinic Loup City – 308.745.0324

Sports physicals include a basic physical exam and take 15 minutes to complete. Sports physicals cost $30 and are not billable to insurance. Cash or check payment is due at the time of service. Student-athletes are asked to bring their physical form to their physical; parent/guardian signature is required. The forms are available at area schools and VCHS scheduling areas.

Wellness exams are often covered by insurance and include a complete physical, medical history review, immunization review, cognitive development review and discussion about nutrition, physical activity, sleep and health risks. Students entering kindergarten, 7th grade and college are required to complete a full wellness exam, including lab work and immunizations.  Parents should accompany non-college exams.

“Sports and other activities are an important part of the high school experience,” VCHS Medical Clinics Manager Gary Satchell said. “Sports physicals and wellness exams help determine if your child is healthy and ready to participate in high school athletics and activities.”
