VCHS Receives Cardiovascular Health Grant
The Valley County Health System (VCHS) Medical Clinics have been selected by the DHHS Chronic Disease Program (CDPCP) to receive the National Cardiovascular Health Grant.
This $25,000 grant will enable VCHS to purchase different educational tools for our patients, as well as new process changes and greater usage of the EMR (electronic medical record) system. There are essential technology requirements associated with the grant, including assessments on social factors of health. Medical Clinics Director Krystal Novotny is also a certified cardiovascular health coach. With her coaching skills and the funding this grant provided, VCHS can offer educational classes on managing blood pressure.
"We are absolutely thrilled to receive this grant," said VCHS Medical Clinics Director Krystal Novotny. "This funding will allow us to expand our services and continue to provide high-quality care to our community. It's an exciting opportunity to enhance our programs and make a real difference in the lives of our patients."
