VCHS to host free lunch for cancer survivors and their families on June 1

ORD, Neb. – National Cancer Survivors Day® is Sunday, June 3, 2018. In honor of this day, Valley County Health System (VCHS)  will celebrate those in our community who are living with and beyond cancer with a free lunch on Friday, June 1 for cancer survivors and their families.  The lunch will be held in the VCHS Courtyard Grille from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

We will join hundreds of communities worldwide in celebrating life. Thousands of cancer survivors, caregivers, family members, friends, and healthcare professionals will gather across the globe to honor cancer survivors and to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be fruitful, rewarding, and even inspiring.

A survivor is anyone living with a history of cancer – from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life, according to the National Cancer Survivors Day® Foundation. In the United States alone, there are more than 15.5 million people living with a history of cancer.

VCHS encourages you to join us for this event to celebrate all cancer survivors and their family members, friends and healthcare professionals that have supported them.  If you have any questions, please contact Becky Ries, 308.728.4299.
